Sylvia's Batik Bridal Quilt

Before Sylvia's Bridal Quilt became an international sensation, Sylvia's quilt began with a story.  The novel "The Master Quilter" by Jennifer Chiaverini to be exact.   The staff of the fictional Elm Creek quilter's retreat — and 72 of author Jennifer Chiaverini's real-life friends — contributed 140 blocks to this beautiful sampler quilt that became Sylvia Bergstrom Compson's wedding gift in The Master Quilter. Now you can join quilters around the world in making this much-loved quilt.

During this 14-month Block-of-the-Month program, you will receive the book, Sylvia's Bridal Sampler from Elm Creek Quilts, and the fabrics needed to complete the quilt top including sashing, borders and binding. Our quilt will be made entirely of batiks for a bright, beautiful variation of this classic.  Most of the 140 blocks are pieced, but there are some that will be foundation pieced or appliqued, either by machine or hand.
Only $23.99 per month, plus a non-refundable $25 start-up fee.

International Sue

Sunbonnet Sue is a quilting icon. It seems that the beloved silhouette of Sue in her bonnet and billowing skirt has been seen in one form or another for decades.  Now Debra Kimball, MD has designed a series of Sue blocks that feature an International theme.

Sue has packed her bag and is traveling the world.  Once her travels began, Sue was delighted to meet her counterparts from many countries, each holding a symbol of that land and dressed in an outfit representing that region. Sue will travel to 49 countries altogether and we are adding a very special extra trip for Sue at the end, making a total of 50 regions visited.

Each month for 24 months, you will receive background material and fabric kits for 2 countries.  Two months in the program you will receive 3 countries.  Each month you will also receive trivia relating to the countries Sue is visiting.  In the first month, you will also receive a World Map so that you can track all the places Sue visits on her journey.
The blocks can be done either by hand or machine appliqué. The quilt measures 79" X 93"
Only $14.99 per month.  And yes, we can ship anywhere.

You are required to have the International Sue book by Debra Kimball, MD.  This is sold separately for $24.99.  Sashing and Borders are not included in this program.
